THE RERUN STORY

The original idea for the Broad Street ReRun came from a discussion between a PTW physical therapist and a patient who mentioned their goal was to run in Philadelphia’s Broad Street 10 Mile Run. The patient mentioned that Lansdale should hold a race down the town’s own Broad Street. The patient, who happened to be a lawyer, mentioned that trademarks would prevent Lansdale from using the Broad Street Run name, and thus the Broad Street RERUN was born.

Ever since, the Broad Street ReRun has been a 5 Mile race through Lansdale/Upper Gwynedd held shortly after the Philadelphia 10 Miler. The race’s timing and location allows for runners from the 10 Miler to work out their aches and pains on a shorter, less demanding course, while also giving new or less experienced runners the chance to prove themselves and achieve new personal records!

THE BROAD STREET RERUN

The Community Health & Youth Foundation, an affiliate of the Chamber of Commerce for the Greater Montgomery County  is a reorganization of the former North Penn Chamber of Commerce Foundation.  In addition to the name change, the mission has been expanded to include a broader commitment to the community.

The Community Health & Youth Foundation supports the Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW) program and provides scholarships for area high school students.  Over the course of five sessions in July and August, The PFEW aims to provide high school juniors and seniors with hands-on experience developing mock businesses and services in order to learn entrepreneurship and its value in America.

The Broad street ReRun donates 100% of the net proceeds to the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Montgomery County, who through the Community Health and Youth Foundation, send kids to a one week business retreat (Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week or PFEW) in the summer of 2018 to learn business, career choice, and about life through mentorship from business volunteers and other community members.

PTW organized the BSRR to support the COC of GMC's CYHF, to send rising high school juniors and seniors to an overnight one-week retreat called the PFEW
